- Upon the Sea of Galilee
- Was it the sight of Masada high above the desert
- Or maybe at Ein-Gedi where David hid from Saul,
- I could have sworn I heard that still small voice
- Gently whispering, lowly calling. . . calling at the Wall.
- For almost two weeks I know I heard Him,
- Speaking silently through sites that filled my eyes,
- Yet in the past they were only stories
- Of ancient people, ancient tales . . . tales of other lives.
- How is it that God would speak to me
- Through these stones and that city upon the hill?
- Oh Jerusalem, thou city of David,
- You’re preserved by God, kept forever . . . forever by His will.
- Silently in the garden was His holy presence,
- And so near was the place where He was crucified.
- In my hands were held the bread and the wine;
- His body, His blood, His life for me He died.
- But it was the voice that calmed the waters
- That drew my gaze and stilled my heart that day.
- Upon the Sea of Galilee His voice was clear,
- Peace be still, Do My will . . . is what I heard Him say.
